The Sisters of Charity of St. Bartholomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa (SCCG) has a long history of fruitful service in Bengal, different parts of India and abroad. Their presence and ministry have been responsible for the spread of the Gospel in deep and inaccessible areas. My memory of the Sisters of Charity goes back to the 1950s, when I was an assistant in the parish of St. Teresa Church, Kolkata. The Chapel in Convent Road was one of the communities where I used to celebrate the Holy Eucharist. Later, as Archbishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, I was a regular visitor to the Convent of Puri along the seashore. Sr. Giulia SCCG was there, though already retired, her zeal for souls was still very alive. She wanted a school for the fishermen’s children, and succeeded in opening one. This led to the involvement of Sr. Gemma SCCG in the work with the leprosy patients started by Fr. Marianus Zelazek SVD in the leprosy colony near the Jaganath Temple of Puri. That ministry transformed the whole area. I am happy to put these few lines on record as a token of appreciation, and an example of the dedicated and generous ministry of the Sisters of Charity over several decades of the last century and before. May God continue to bless the Sisters of Charity with his graces and loving protection! -Emeritus Archbishop Henry D’ Souza,Calcutta

The Sisters of Charity of St. Bartolomea Capitanio and St. Vincenza Gerosa landed up in Krishnagar, a place very close to our Cathedral Church on 17th March 1860. It was a great day for the Sisters of Charity and for the people of Krishnagar. It was a memorable day and it is remembered even today with great pride by all of us. It has a long history of fruitful service not only in Krishnagar but in the whole of India and all over the world. The spreading of Gospel and the love of Christ Jesus was their passion in their mission and service. I came in contact with them from the year 1955 when my family came down to Ranaghat from Kolkata. Then I was about 10 years old. Only there I realized their hard work in the spread of the love of Christ by means of education, health care, running boarding, orphanage and also doing catechetical work. I found them motherly and sisterly as they take great care of the little children. They truly love those who are left out, ignored and rejected by the society. I do appreciate their selfless, hard and relentless work. I should say they have proved themselves to be dedicated, generous and self sacrificing sisters. I wish God’s manifold Graces for this Congregation and every member in it. -Bp. Joseph Suren Gomes sdb, DD., Krishnagar Diocese, Dist. Nadia, West Bengal

They are a unique band of zealous, focused and down to earth missionaries! Those who know them closely cannot but feel genuinely proud of them for their commitment and loving service to those under their care, be it in boardings, formal schools, hospitals, grihini centres or parishes! Visit their centres and you will find them busy like bees with their mission! I salute and love the Sisters of Charity for what they are to the Church, to the country and to the world!-Fr. I am glad to learn that the Society namely ‘SISTERS OF CHARITY’ is launching a website meant to keep in touch with all those who have been associated with the Sisters in various ways that is – Education, Medical services and Social service. I, Mayor Kartika Reddy have been associated with the Sisters of Charity from a very young age. In fact I was a student at Holy Family High School from my early years. I am emotionally attached to this Institution of the Sisters of Charity and to the Sisters and Teachers who taught me. I have learnt the values of life which stand me in good stead even today in the high position I have attained. I appreciate the value based education they impart and the high standard of the School. I am sure many like me will be happy and appreciate the website where they can stay in touch with their dear Alma Mater and help keep the good work going. I wish the Sisters of Charity all success and assure them of my best wishes for the growth and progress of the good work that is being done by them in all the Institutions they run. -Ms.Banda Karthika Reddy, Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)

Charity begins at home. But I am witnessing it in abundance in my neighbourhood where the resilient Sisters of Charity are radiating the splendour of Christian love and compassion. The name itself is unique – House of Providence. It is a home for the aged, the disabled, the abandoned, and the dying. It is a splendid oasis of charity in the heart of a throbbing commercial metropolis. Sisters of Charity took over House of Providence as a benevolent bequeath from the Archdiocese of Verapoly in 1937. It is a coincidence worth mentioning that Agnes of Albania, the future founder of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, became a nun in the assumed name of Teresa in that year. What the Missionaries of Charity do on a grand scale, the Sisters of Charity is doing in a micro level. But that is also something beautiful for God. I am in the neighbourhood of House of Providence for more than six decades. I still vividly remember many faces – of inmates, of serving Sisters, and of the chaplains. A few of the Sisters were foreigners. Not only the faces of men and women but the images of the dogs, the cows, the pigs and the birds are also lingering. The evergreen thicket, though picturesque, was somewhat eerie – strange and frightening. The unshackled dogs would not permit any one to enter the compound after sunset. Then the old order suddenly changed. The cloistered compound became a place of convergence for people in the locality. The alpha and omega shaped chapel, designed and built by my uncle, Fr Joseph Moonjapilly, became the favourite church for people in the neighbourhood. The institution became open and transparent. The change has become palpable to the extent of opening the premises to the whole world by launching a website. Good men are willingly coming forward to assist the institution. Charity apart, such expression of goodness is a divinely ordained duty of every human being. Every act of kindness, howsoever minuscule it may be, will be accounted and credited for the Judgement Day. This realization is attracting more and more people towards this place where the protective care of God is taking place through we, the mortals. -Adv. Sebastian Paul, Former Member of Parliament

I have been associated with the Sisters of Charity of Saints Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa for a very long time. I appreciate their dedicated and committed Service for the past 178 years. This Congregation has a special concern for the sick priests. They have always taken very good care of the sick priests especially the Diocesan priests. I appreciate them very much for this service they render to the Ministers of God. In the Archdiocese of Hyderabad they have been rendering yeomen service in many and various ways especially in the fields of Education, Health Care and Social Service. Their services in the Rural areas in particular in the Districts of A.P. is praise worthy. The Sisters are very simple, approachable and unassuming. They have great concern for the less privileged, for human promotion and for the development of the poor and needy. I have great regard for the Sisters of Charity and pray that they reach out to many more in their apostolate and through their website. -Fr. Swarna Bernard

When I remember the chronology of past 13 years, the mission of Sisters of Charity in Nepal began after the pioneer sisters visit to Tansen in 1998 with a dream to serve the poor, marginalized, needy people specially women and children. Before starting any program they walked remote wards of Tansen Municipality and adjacent villages, meeting the common people to study the needs of the society. Everywhere they went, crowds warmly welcomed them. The sisters met many prominent personalities, municipal officers and social workers and well wishers in the town to study the real needs of the local people. Based on the needs, the sisters initiated the social welfare services by starting a school to cater the needs of children through quality education. To institutionalize the program of the Sisters of Charity according to the rules and regulation of Nepal Government, a non- government organization (NGO) named “Nepal Karuna Sewa Samaj”(NKSS) was registered in the local government office and later affiliated with the Social Welfare Council in 2000. With the financial support from Sisters’ of Charity and co-operation from the Superiors and well-wishers, the St. Capitanio school was established with a motto “Build on Love to Serve and Lead “. Because of the sisters’ untiring effort, good number of children from deprived sections have easy access to quality education in affordable cost in an atmosphere of love and warm relationship where students learn moral values and life skills to be responsible citizens. During this period I have seen many sisters who came to Tansen and have rendered selfless services and support to school and to the needy women and children from backward society. Leaning the needs of underprivileged people , they have extended various services to reach out different sections of the poor in–AshirBhawan ( Lalitpur) , JeevanJyoti ( Ghorbanda ), Preranalay ( Baniyatar, Kathmandu), Don Bosio ( Chitwan) and recent venture Aashadhara (Kohalpur). With the generous support of the sisters, we, NKSS executive members Er. Bishnu Shrestha and I, had an opportunity to observe the charitable works and Social Welfare services running in Banglore and Manglore area, which was an inspiration to us. I feel myself very much blessed by God to be a part of the support team of the sisters. Many people highly appreciate the unselfish and untiring service rendered by the sisters. I have heard many acknowledgements from the beneficiaries from remote villages that “Sisters are the Angels sent by God to Heal the poor People’s wounds “. God Bless You dear Sisters. -Mr. Damber Basyal ,Vice President, Nepal Karuna Sewa Samaj ,Nepal

Having studied in Holy Child Sr Sec School, Tagore Garden run by Sisters of Charity has been an absolute wonderful experience by far the best. Education is what decides the future of a pupil and is effectively imparted at many schools, but the kind of learning that takes place in Holy Child School is unique. The school because it is being run by the Sisters of Charity provides knowledge which is essentially based on human values which are very vital for a wholesome development of the pupils. Their ideals of selfless service towards the society, unconditional love for all and the spirit of simplicity in life is what we were taught along with the regular curriculum. The experience of being surrounded by the ideologies of Sisters of charity during my years at school has been a sacred one. They have taught us to really care for the fellow beings which is missing these days in the society. During the present times when everyone is adopting the selfish ways specially the children who are deluded with ideas of consumerism and often go astray I consider myself very fortunate to have been in the guidance of sisters and their ideals. Care, love and peace in daily life is what I have learnt from them and have always followed even in troublesome times of my life and I have emerged victorious doing the same. I can doubtlessly say had I not studied in this school run by the Sisters of Charity I might have been a successful professional but not a good human being. -Mrs. Rupika Kumar ,Assistant Manager, Research and Design,Toshiba India Pvt Ltd

Apart from education, this community is actively involved in the upliftment of downtrodden, providing health care and counseling. I appreciate the Sisters of Charity of Saints Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa of South East India Province for their value based service to the society at large especially for the poor and the down trodden. I have been in close collaboration with these sisters for last four years in the parish church of Christ the King, Coimbatore. I have come across quite a few congregations, well known for their service in the field of education and care of the aged etc... But the Sisters of Charity has really won my special admiration and appreciation, love and concern because of their simplicity, love for the poor and above all their keen and active interest in the pastoral field. We live in the same campus; they are at my beck and call for any pastoral service. Apart from running a Nursery School, Tailoring Institute and Computer Centre mostly for the poor, they do a lot of services in the parish, namely they go often for family visits, share their joys and pain, pray with them and break the Word of God to them. They facilitate the BCC meetings and guide them. They also are very keen in visiting the sick both at home and in hospitals. People are very happy to have them in the joyful events of the family as their own family members. They are always present for any sad situation in the families. Sunday Catechism for parish children is another field of their special concern. They help the people to take part actively and meaningfully in the Liturgy. For me it is really a fruitful experience to have the sisters of Charity in my parish, taking part in every pastoral and charitable activity in the parish. People love them and me too. I wish them all happiness in their ministry. -Fr. Guruswamy, Parish Priest Christ the King Church Coimbatore.

A glimpse into the past rejuvenating the present "My experience with the sisters of Charity of Saints Bartolomea and Vinzenca Gerosa of the Capitanio Convent". It gives me immense pleasure and I deem it a great privilege and opportunity to express my views and telecast my opinions on what I have experienced, cherished and shared with all the dear Rev. Sisters of the Capitanio Convent in Coimbatore. I am indeed happy to state that I was closely associated with the dear Sisters right from the inception of the convent. I must make a mention right from 1982 my association with them blossomed and bloomed into a reality which eventually became my second home – A home away from home and this could happen only because of the untiring efforts, co-operation, assistance and assurance meted out to me in moments of despair, financial inadequacy and most of all, they were ever ready, willing and able to render any help that was required by me- for which act of kindness I will ever remain indebted to them for life. My experience enhanced as I entered the portals of the "Spoken English Centre" in the year 2005, to be precise my whole life style changed because that was the year I retired as a teacher from Carmel Garden Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Coimbatore. The constant assistance, help, sincerity of loving, caring, counseling, guidance and spontaneous gestures helped me to be reassured and the happy disposition which gave me a reason to continue my close association not only with the less fortunate and the poor but for the society at large. The credit reaches out to none other than the dear Sisters of the Capitanio Convent, Coimbatore. I wish the ALL the BEST life can offer them with rich bountiful blessings from Christ our King and their patron Saints. -Ms. Mary Anne D'souza, President of the all India Anglo Indian Association Coimbatore Branch, Mea friend, Lay collaborator of the Capitanio Convent, Vice president of YWCA- CBE Br, Diocese Representative of the Anglo Indian Community.

It was the finest and the rarest opportunity for me to work with and share the experiences with the Sisters of Charity at Pandalur. The golden period was 1992-1997. I am very much fortunate to have even now their friendship and patronage. The school team headed by Rev. Sr. Romana and the religious community headed by Sr. Doreen Chacko had been doing wonderful job for which they had been ordained and even more. The school which had the maximum strength of backward girls proved to be a challenge in the eyes of the public. The school has brought them successful in the field of education, sports, cultural activities, moral etc,. Only devoted Sisters can do this and they are doing without regret of the negative comments from the public. Only when the fruit of their labour came to public did they realize how wisely the Sisters had done their job despite various difficulties. They meet the poor families and share with them their sufferings, illness and poverty. The Sisters guide them the correct way-counsel them to act and behave better. They helped many people from their mite to build houses, to buy the essentials, nurse them to their level best. The Sisters have brought fear of God in them which resulted in their formation in faith. The Sisters taught them how to pray, how to speak with God and people and how to spend the time wisely and usefully and also how to spend and save money. The Sisters bring out the hidden talents from the girls and shape them and train them to the correct direction of purpose of life. The public were taken aback by these wonderful jobs. Their hard and unselfish work have brought the girl students to society as doctors, lawyers, teachers, police Inspectors, managers, superintendants etc,. I can very well witness to their faithfulness to duty, to their life of hope amidst discouraged situation, above all to their charity without dispar ity. I wish them to harvest more in future from the right field where they have sown the wonderful seeds of faith and hope. -Mr. Victor Sundaravadivelu. “Education is what survives when what has been learnt, has been forgotten. ”Today, I may have forgotten the lessons of History, Maths and Science that I learnt at school but what has stayed with me is that my dear school is so good in imparting EDUCATION. My school, Holy Child, Sonepat, Haryana, aims at not only teaching but bringing forth complete individuals and I personally feel that lessons of morality, good character, discipline and simplicity that I learnt at school have gone a long way in shaping my personality the way it is. I may not have touched the pinnacles of glory in terms of success and achievement, in the same league as Bill Gates, but have tried my best to become a good human being. I have tried to contribute to society in my own little way whatever good I have been able to do and this is all because of the lessons I learnt at school. My school has helped me to become a morally upright and spiritually sound citizen and these are the qualities that have stayed with me for life. The glory I have tasted in my profession as a successful lawyer of High Court is all thanks to the lessons taught by my teachers and sisters at this school. My association with my school has grown stronger with every passing day as a member of the Managing Committee and also as my daughters are still parts of this prestigious institution. I feel glad to see that my school has lived up to its reputation of churning out polished diamonds from raw uncut stones even today. I can proudly say that there is no school in the vicinity that can match its brilliance and excellence. I sincerely wish and pray that my school touches the heights of success and triumph and may God grant them strength and courage to pursue their noble task with greater zest and zeal. I assure you all , that I am there with my school in every venture they undertake, in my own little way. -Mr. Sanjay Suri, Advocate, High Court, Delhi

I passed out from Holy Child Institute, Kolkata, in the year 1988. I have studied in this school only for four years – classes VI, VII, IX, and X, as my father had a transferable job. You must be thinking where I studied in Class VIII. Yes, I want to share with all of you this memorable experience of mine, because whenever I remember my school, this is the experience which comes to my mind first. A major part of my school life has been spent in convent schools; and the ambience, the serenity, the discipline, the love and care of the sisters had always touched me. I always had great respect for sisters. In Holy Child also there was the same nurturing and discipline. After studying there in classes VI and VII, my father suddenly got transferred to Coochbehar and we had to shift there. Even after getting admission in one of the best private schools there, I terribly missed the atmosphere of Holy Child. I became so sad that I wrote a letter to Sr.Romana, who was the principal of Holy Child Institute at that time. Sr.Romana had a calm, strict yet gentle and loving personality, so though I had a lot of regard for her I also feared her. She had a wonderful ability of knowing and understanding each student of the school personally and she used to deal with them likewise keeping in mind their well-being. In the letter which I wrote to Sister, I expressed my feelings for my school and how I missed it. I was deeply moved to receive a letter from her mentioning that she remembered me very well for my humility and inspired me to keep up my spirit and practice what I had learnt from the school. The letter was so full of affection that I treasured it for a long time. Just after one year when I got promoted to Class IX, my father once again got transferred to Kolkata and I was granted admission to class IX in Holy Child again. This is what Holy Child is, what the sisters and teachers are and the values they uphold. Along with the academic part, the sisters and the teachers have always paid great attention in developing a good human being. Today, I myself am a dedicated sister in ‘Brahma Kumaris’ organization. This is a spiritual value-educational organization spread all over the world, which gives spiritual education and meditation training people from all walks of life. I love and enjoy the service that I offer here and I feel humbly grateful to God - our Supreme Father for using me as an instrument for the service of mankind. But I must say that the values, the teachings, and the practical example of the sisters of Holy Child, their purity, their simplicity, had a deep impact on me and is certainly one of the reasons which led me choose such a life of service and gain great satisfaction out of it. I along with other sisters of Brahma Kumaris share a great rapport with all the sisters of both the Holy Child Schools of Kolkata at Abhedananda Road and C.I.T. Road and we feel very happy whenever we get an opportunity to offer our services there, as sisters quite often organize classes on topics like Positive Thinking, Personality Development, Understanding Success, Developing Concentration through Meditation for students along with sessions with teachers and parents. I express my deep gratitude and regard to all the sisters and teachers of my school. -Ms. B.K.Shreyasi, Brahma Kumaris, Rajyoga Bhawan, 81/1, Block –C, Bangur Avenue, Kolkata

I started my professional education in the year 2001 with Sisters of Charity at Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing. I came to study nursing and I was one of the first batches of students. I experienced unconditional love and blessings during my study and working as a staff in the hospital as well as in the school of nursing. The sisters helped me in all stages of my student life. These sisters help all students not only in studies but also financially. I learnt how to manage my time by looking at the sisters because they do their duty in community and in hospital and teaching in nursing school. I cherish beautiful memories of my life spent in the campus of Our Lady of Lourdes School and hospital and with sisters, doctors and my classmates. All this was possible because I had the opportunity to do my studies in this institution. The sisters at convent and hospital have been role models for me and other young girls who study here. By studying here I have learnt values like honesty, courage, obedience, which have helped me to do my further studies. It is in the nursing school that I learnt how to be a good leader, organizer of programmes and to do team work. I am really blessed and fortunate to be a part of the teaching staff of Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing. I feel so proud to say that I was a student of this esteemed Institution and to serve in the same. It is an opportunity for me to express my gratitude in the form of my service here. It is tremendous mixture of learning and preparing the future nightingales. My experience as a tutor here is to share the pain of the sick persons and serve them indirectly through my students. It will not be an exaggeration if I claim that I am walking in the footsteps of great humankind server. It’s the manifestation of God to me in the form of patients and Mother Theresa in the form of my students. This institution is not merely a factory of employees but it is the God’s work with his own hands, preparing and moulding His children to serve the patients. “As Christ himself showed a humble example of service by washing the feet of his disciples”. With feeling of gratitude I wish to thank all past and present sisters for giving me an opportunity to be a part of their institution. -Ms. LUVINA, NURSING TUTOR, OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL OF NURSING

They do not show any discrimination to any caste; they love and respect people as human beings. They render selfless service to the people without counting the cost or asking for any reward or seeking fame; they do it with great love and affection. Sisters of Charity has shaped thousands of personalities for more than half a decade in Holy Child School, Tagore Garden, New Delhi. I am a person who has been shaped, groomed, supported and facilitated entirely by this sacred institution. My love, respect and association with HCS and the sisters is much beyond than I can express in my vocabulary. But today I am just making an attempt to take down my feelings on this piece of paper. During my primary years, I slowly realized the strong bond of love and affection that I had formed with my school. By the middle school years, I was totally in love with my school. I constantly tried to follow each and every value that was being taught to me in school, sometimes failing but most of the times succeeding. I was not a very strong believer of God. But even then, during the low and weak moments of my life, my morning prayer in school always uplifted my spirits. However my Almighty Father had decided to be with me and build my faith in him during the hardest moments of my life. He wanted to make me strong and think good of the world around me when I had started seeing myself, my life and everything around me negatively. During the most troublesome times of my life, the Lord helped me by sending his angels to my life. These angels were none other than the sisters in HCS and also some of my best teachers ever. When I saw my world end and my career ruin, and I thought I was no longer capable of being in HCS, God extended help to me through the Sisters of Charity. It was the sisters who encouraged me, guided me, and revived my ability to dream. During the toughest of my times, Sisters were there beside me. When I was in deep trouble financially emotionally and even my soul ceased to be mine, Sister revived me, redeemed my spirit, and motivated me to work towards a bright future To this day, while pursuing the 1st year of my bachelors degree in elementary education, from Jesus and Mary College, DU , I run short of words to express my gratitude, love and respect for HCS and all the sisters who work selflessly for the needy, who keep the HCS family going and to whom I owe my very existence and my life. Today, I am a proud owner of the humanitarian, social and moral values that I have received as a part of this institution and am also a very strong believer of Christ, The Almighty. Towards the end, I want to thank the almighty for blessing me by getting me associated with this institution and the generous, compassionate Sisters who selflessly keep this sacred and prestigious institution going. -Ms. Gayatri Sharma, B.El.Ed 1st year student at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi

A good school is an institution that in addition to imparting education instills values in an individual. In that sense it is more important an institution than any other institution of learning. But what makes a school truly outstanding is that it creates responsible citizens who contribute to the welfare of the society and the progress of the nation. In that sense Holy Child School, Sonepat can truly be credited for making a huge impact by producing a legion of professionals who have made a name for themselves. It has been a huge honour and privilege for me to have passed out from the hallowed portals of this great institution which has been one of the most revered ones in the city. I distinctly remember from the days when I was still a student in the school, the sheer pride it would feel while introducing oneself as an “HCSian”. “Always More, Always Better” the motto of the school has been demonstrated by all its students in the fields of learning which they have chosen to undertake in the careers later in life. And it was not just in academics that the students of our school have excelled. The holistic development thanks to the strong focus on extra-curricular activities has made them shine out in fields as diverse as music, sports and theatre. In fact, thanks to the confidence that I gained by means of participating in the many extra-curricular activities that I could manage to do well in the interviews of highly competitive institutions of learning in my later career including XLRI, Jamshedpur and the LKYSPP, Singapore. This is not to forget the great emphasis the school gave on acquiring General Knowledge by initiating a regular subject of GK from a junior class itself. The firm foundation which was laid by the school in the field of G.K. went a long way in me making a grade in the UPSC Civil Services Examinations. In that sense I attribute my success to no small measure to the learning that was imparted to me in the school by the sisters and teachers. My alma mater remains with me in all the trying times and is a great source of inspiration in helping me make just and right decisions as a bureaucrat -Mr. Gautam Wahi, Indian Revenue Service Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Central Excise at New Delhi

"Prayer of a good man works powerfully". These lines from the Bible have inspired me from my childhood and I still follow these words truly. Reflecting on this line I thought of admitting my son to a school where it is followed. After a thorough search I felt fortunate enough to admit my child in St. Capitanio School, Maliapota. I came to know many things about their way of life which inspired me and helped me to be disciplined in my life’s journey. I have noticed that all the missionary schools inculcate in the students, qualities like morality, perseverance, creativity and tolerance. I have also understood that the students are given the choice for free thinking, free reasoning and thus give their own opinions regarding their curricula. The co-curricular activities are in full swing in the school. I am also accustomed with the various social works conducted by the Sisters of Charity, the love and dedication of their service not only to the school children but also to the helpless and the needy. I have come to realize that a school cannot run without the dedication of the teachers as my father himself is a school teacher in our locality. I have come across innumerable students who come out of this school securing brilliant results and establishing themselves in a respectable position in life. This would have remained incomplete without the teachers who always are pillars behind the success of their students. Undoubtedly, I would be the first person to be very glad to have my son admitted to this particular school. I wish and pray to God that “the Sisters of Charity” may mould the young minds to be better citizens of tomorrow, having the courage to fight for what is right and bravely face the realities of life. -Mr. Atiqur Rahaman Mondal, Gobindapur, P.O.Patharghata, Dist.Nadia, West Bengal

I am from the village of Water works Road in Puri. My parents could not educate me due to utter poverty. As I grew up, I took up rickshaw pulling as a means of livelihood. When I came to know about the Sisters of Charity, a new ray of light began to brighten my life. I did not know how to read and write. I learnt it with the help of our sisters here at Dharmadham in Puri. All the rickshaw pullers were very eager to educate ourselves specially to learn English which helps us to communicate with the tourists. Besides this we had different awareness programme i.e. small savings, avoiding drinking habits, health awareness and the importance of taking care of our children .These enabled us to have a broader vision of life. I received a rickshaw from the sisters here and am now able to earn my living. I am still pulling the rickshaw and keep constant contact with the sisters. They continue to help me to educate my daughter. All of us in the group are impressed by the programme arranged for us by the sisters. Here we came to know God as our Father and we, as His Children. We took interest in each other and began to be united as a group. Even now we keep up that unity among us. My contact with the sisters has changed my outlook towards them and I know that they are my own sisters. I keep them informed of all good and bad events of my life and approach them for guidance and help any time. -Mr. Laxmi Narayan Jena (Rickshaw puller), Water works Road, Puri
